| Christmas Teddy Bear Show in Castle Zeist in the Netherlands was organized by JoJo. We have 2 Christmas Days here in the Netherlands. First Christmas day and Christmas eve are mostly spent with family and friends. After celebrating inside most of the time during these days, the second Christmas day people like to go out and see or do something. And several of them came to see the bears at the Christmas Bear Show in Castle Zeist. Some bears found new homes, but many of the visitors didn`t even know about "collecting" bears and were surprised over the many variations in Teddy Bears. So hopefully interest is made and a few new bear collectors were born on this day. Berta Hesen-Minten |

After arriving and set up, before the show was open for public, the show organizer, JoJo,surprised the participants with coffee and a piece of pastry. It was delicious!
On top of the pastry was the trademark of the sponsoring organization made in sugar. Really surprising and delicious too. Picture taken from one side of the big room the show was held in. It was a dark room, but with the light everyone brought, they create a wonderful Christmas atmosphere. Picture from the other side of the room.
Jannie Hansman from Haja Bears. Jannie brought a large collection bears and animals to Zeist. Sewen and crocheted. Something for everyone.
Bearable-Bears' Anjo Noija-Nehmelman loves the oldies and her bears show this very well. Anjo makes a really wonderful imitation of old looking bears, it is really difficult to believe they don't have that age. In between her own "oldies" you can find some really old bears, like the panda and elephant in this picture. Bearable-Bears Bearable-Bears Rag dolls just fit perfect with these all.
Some more ThReAdTeDs® bears on display. |
Nel Roos of Roosbear behind her stand. Nel makes lovely old tyme Teddy's and is presenting these with the most lovely, real vintage accessories. Roosbear- The teddies wearing wonderful dresses bring back the nostalgia from days gone by. Roosbear: Another couple and look at the vintage sewing carousel!
Something totally different-the colorful Goodluck Bears from Marleen de Bruyne. Colors are waving to you and you just have to stop and look at her bears. Goodluck Bears Marleen is searching for matching colors for each bear separate. Pawpads, nose and accessories; it all is matching. I was especially amazed by the perfect stitched noses. As I asked her about the noses, she even told me her trade secret how she makes them. No, No, it stays a secret but believe me, they are perfect! Goodluck Bears
The stand from Y Dorst. First time he is participating in a bear show. He told me it all began as a "joke" and it is now growing into a nice little business.
Close up of one of the Y Dorst pictures. ThReAdTeDs® This time I brought more fabric bears than crocheted, but I work on more crochet for the next shows to come.
