Opposites Attract!

by Janet Nelson

Fresh research from scientists from Cornell University in New York indicates that an ideal match is more important than being different! And, marriage of equal people has the best chance of success.

The findings suggest too many physical and mental differences between couples, cause instability. Plus, while these opposites may attract, over time the relationship becomes estranged.

Unbearable Truths?

So, does the same hold true in the teddy bear world? If a bear/bud is

better looking or has a higher “social status” than its counterpart, will

its owner be tempted to "trade up" and find a better suited match?

We contacted Professor Leobold De Egghead to shed some light on the

matter.  The professor, a famous arctophile scientist, has studied whether similarly matched animal pairs, stand less chance of separation in the

adoption process and therefore provide more stability in bringing delight

to all who meet them.

After conducting several hundred field trials and evaluations of specific

pairs, Professor Egghead concluded the following:

"Combining two distinctly different designs into one beautiful team takes extraordinary skill, and that is what really separates the artist from the

normal bear-maker."

"In fact, the unique qualities of each paired animal," continued Professor Egghead, "whether subtle or arresting, can render a powerful statement

of meshed togetherness collector cannot resist.  Once adopted, no amount

of outside interference, will break this bond."

Dynamic Differerent Duos Can Survive!

Well stated, Professor! Looks like we can possibly surmise that even odd pairings like wild/classical or Victorian vintage/high-tech whimsy, may prove

that opposites attract AND stay together! In the end, the collector decides.

If the collector likes one of a pair, chances are the same collector will like

both - no matter how different they are!

To satisfy your need for opposites, we have gathered several specimens

for you to examine and judge for yourself! Let us know what you decide!

We put their opposite characteristic(s) above their name.
