The show in Lindau, Bodensee was the 4th International Sea-Bear-Festival held on 28 - 29 july 2007. Lindau, a wonderful area along the Bodensea. The weather was great, some said it was a little to warm to visit a show, but what is the perfect weather to visit a show? If I plan to visit a show, I go no matter what weather it is.
Many bears found new homes and for sure many new bears and animals will be born soon after as artists restocked their fabric supplies.

The doors are still closed, the opening is at 11.00 AM Saturday and we all enjoyed seeing the que growing.
|
 |
Finally, doors are opened and the first visitors hurry to their favorite artist, to be see what's new and lay their hands on new bears.
There were so many bears to choose from and that makes a decision quite difficult at times. |

Many Artist come back every year and the show attracts brand new artist.
New to the show was Marie-Josee Hermes from Luxembourg, she said "this is my first big show". She likes to experiment with a variety of styles and colors. She said she is still searching for the best way to go, and the best way is to make something from everything. |

Baerenfreunde is a teddy bear club for bear makers. Their motto: everything is more fun with people working together on the same thing they all love, teddy bear making. The club promotes teddy bear making at the shows and to be a member has several benefits such as taking part in fun projects, print a club magazine, have member patterns, attend meetings and workshops. The club continues to grow and they have inspired many people to try their hands at bear making. |

New pattern/kit from Berta Hesen-Minten was that of a traditional mouse. He is a small design just 1.75 inches tall. Many people loved the little mouse but were scared to start something that small. The updated pattern/kit now has a pattern and supplies to make a bigger mouse of 4 inches tall AND the small mouse.
People stopped and loved to watch Berta demonstrating throughout the show. |

Sabines bears attracted attention because of the flowers on the bears bodies. At first you might think they were embroidered but on closer inspection we discovered they were needlefelted! What a nice idea and it gives the bears, who are already special, something extra special! |

Artist of mini bears were designed and made by Claudia Schleu.
Claudia brought bears, but also kits and supplies to Lindau. |

Madeleine G. Herzig from Switzerland is the owner of MGH Teddybears and she brought several new designs in limited edition. |
 |
Robena Duffy is the Artist behind Pick-me Bears. Her table was always busy with collectors admiring her creative work.

I visited Hildegard Weidlich's table and we talked about bears, what else!
She has been making bears for 14 years, and this was her first show she participated. She said she had such a great time, chatting with bear-lovers and other bear artist. Hildegard sells her bears from home, via friends and a shop. The bears from Hildegard are made from real fur. You need to know a lot about the fur as many furs are not suitable to make a bear. Hildegards experience recognizes a good or bad fur immediately.
We hope Hildegard (Hilla-Bär) will participate at the Euro Teddie in Essen, so if you didn't manage to buy one of her very soft, furry friends in Lindau, you might in Essen! |
I look back at a really nice show and look forward to again return to Lindau next year for the 5th International Sea-Bear-Festival in Inselhalle Lindau/Bodensee Germany.
