Cees Bears

By B. B.

“I seal love in with each stitch” asserts Celia Newboult of Cees Bears.  A natural-born care-giver,

Celia was at a loss when she had

to retire from nursing due to ill health.

Having tried flower arranging, stencilling, and nearly all other manner of craft pursuits, in 2002, she finally discovered that nothing

quite satisfied her like making

teddy bears.

However, Celia’s is a business

with a difference.  This deeply spiritual and compassionate soul donates the profits from her

bears to charities, and two

which are dear to her heart –

Red Ridings Children’s Hospice

and St Barnabas Hospice – are

the main beneficiaries.

For Celia, this is a win-win situation, “I see my artistic

reward at shows in the eyes

of the new owner. The delight

is heart warming."

"Then I’m doubly rewarded when

I bring the money to the hospice and see their surprise too”, she explains.  “I’m thankful God has given me the chance to do good through this wonderful furry, huggable world”.

Most of Celia’s bears are small

to miniature.  In fact, her minis

are her most popular designs,

which she attributes to keeping

the designs “simple, yet adorable and affordable”.

“I suppose that is why folks come back for more, they like my work and they are supporting such a worthy cause”, she smiles.

A Cees Bear doesn’t hurry itself into being.  A mini may take a few days, while bigger bears may take several weeks.  Add plenty of hugs into the mix and Cee’s enthusiasm, and you can understand why they are content to hang around.

Describing each new bear as giving her a creative ‘high’, Celia is always looking for new challenges and, at present, is contemplating the idea of a realistic polar bear with teeth and claws.

“But that is for the future!” she laughs.  “For now I am happy to just take things as they come.  God’s wonderful bounty shows us many things to be happy with and we all need to seek within our souls to find that next bear”.

Cee does offer other artists' hand crafted bears and related items, as well as her own, on her website, www.ceesbears.com.

Editor's Note:

What some people don't know about Cee is that she has the innate soul of a poet and writes the most beautiful poems.

Active in several Yahoo online groups, Cee often consoles those who are going through tough times, sicknesses, or deaths

of a loved one, by emailing them

a poem written specially for the person who is suffering.

One of her goals, is to gather these poems together in the

hopes of publishing a volume

of her poems.

An admirable goal and one

which, knowing Cee, she will reach with ease.

One of her original poems is listed

below.

REACH OUT

Reach out today

and touch someone’s heart

A friend for life, never to part.

Look to your soul,

dig all around

It’s amazing the love that you've found

Someone’s in pain

or crying alone

Be a good friend

and pick up the phone

A few moments

to talk with love

Sent to you from Him above

No one should suffer

or feel lost and adrift

So many folks who care

help their spirits, to lift

Love has no boundaries,

it fills us up, as it should

Go out today and share

all that’s good

Be glad, help heal

someone's heart today

Your turn may arrive

when dark days stay

Your friends, so real,

to help, will strive.

Good friends never part

Hugs

Dolly Golly

On the way to Lincoln whilst travelling

on the midday butterfly coach, I happened

upon such a lovely little girl dressed in lemon cotton with a matching hat. Her eyes spoke volumes to me with lips of ruby red.  "Dolly

Golly, is the name," she said.  Very petite,

her size is only 7" tall in statue, a beautiful

little lady of virtue and a real pal to Teddy.

Sitting by the dell is wonderful and those

pretty lights guided me like stars.  It is

always nice to visit pa and ma.  Their love

is shining as we play along bingo with the

mice and enjoy each other's company.  What

a beautiful night! Everyone must come in

for nice, warm tea and yummy muffins.

A Special Note from Cee:

Over this past month, together with avid teddybear collectors,

we raised £200.00 for the Hospice!

I would personally like to thank all my customers, past and new,

for their support.

I will continue to strive to raise more funds for these charities.

Bless you my sweet friends

Love and blessings

Cee
