-----------------------------------------------------

Queen Rutabaga loves contests especially

when she dictates the rules, which were

simple: Start with a sock, any sock.

Use it to make a Sock Monkey or Sock Animal: any kind, any size,

any color, any shape - and it does not have to be Red Heel socks.

The purpose of this challenge was two-fold:

One - Stretch the thinking of traditional collectible teddy bear/

animal artists.

Two - Give Queen Rutabaga more subjects for Sockmongolia,

her Sock Monkey kingdom!

Examine the work of the wonderful artists below who have passed

Queen Rutabaga's scrutiny, and judge on originality of design,

materials choices, overall craftmanship and display.

5

Cheshire Cat Sock Monkey

He may look different than the original

Sock Monkey, but all "rules" for making

Sock Monkeys, were carefully followed.  Body is one sock with another sock for his arms and tail.  Heel were used for ears

and noseinstead of a hat. I only varied

in that I used a different contrasting

colored sock for feet, hands and tail tip.
