| Announcing the results of both the judges choice, and the online poll voted on by members of our group, and the results are listed below
Our Bearmakers of Australia and Beyond group, has been going strong for 7 years, and still a fairly active group, with not only online activity, but we have regular bear making days, workshops and other activities here in Melbourne, as well as challenges, swaps, etc during the year.
We make comfort bears for cancer patients regularly. At the moment are running our second challenge for this year which is a comfort bear challenge, where we ask our members to register to make a bear either 10-12 inches or 4-6 inches, so they can either be cuddled or held in the hand by cancer patients to bring them comfort.
Our esteemed judge was well known, loved and well respected Australian bear artist, Loris Hancock, who incidentally is a long standing member of our group. We really appreciate Loris giving up her valuable time to judge all the entries, and giving us the benefit of her experience and expertise and her helpful suggestions.
I am so proud that so many of our wonderful members participated in the challenge, and that they tried something new and different. We had some wonderful celebrities entries, and I would like to give each and every one of them a prize. Unfortunately we can only have so many winners and we have decided to give 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each section, The Judges section and the Voting Section plus some honourable mentions.
