Dixie Becomes Trixie

The Extreme Makeover

Dixie is a pattern that I have made quite a few of in the past, but not long ago I decided to experiment with “remaking” some of my pieces and this bear was the first experiment with that process.

The “make over” diary is written from Dixie’s point of view.

Before the Spa . . .

Dear Diary,

I have been hearing about Extreme Makeovers.

I think I have been hanging around for too long, so I have booked myself a trip to the Spa for a complete treatment.

I will record my experiences here every day.

 Spa Day 1

Today was the day. I checked into the Spa early this morning.

Since I am going to take advantage of the full treatment, my first stop was the photo studio. I can tell you that those photo lights are HOT!

I got pictures of my feet, face from two different angles and my full body.

Spa Day 2

They say we must begin with a clean slate, so today there was a lot of “erasure” surgery. Here is what I looked like when the surgeon finished.

I will be having an eyelid lift, a nose job, ear remodeling and foot sculpting …. YIKES! Maybe its better I cannot see what is going on right now.

Spa Day 3

I'm looking pretty scary here! Not to worry, I will actually have my baby blues back when the treatment is done.

I'm going to have eyelashes too when I'm done, which will be very cool (no other bear in the den has EVER had those....I'm feeling very special).

My feet are getting "acupuncture" treatments, and my new toes will be wonderful.

Spa Day 4

Take a look at my wonderful new feet! The procedure took 2 hours on the "operating table", but they are amazing!

So far this hasn't been a painful experience, so I'm trying to just relax and see what happens next.

Spa Day 5

Ta Da!

I just love my new eyes!

It took some extra time and some new procedures but I just love the eyelashes and my eyeliner is guaranteed never to be uneven again.

You will also note that the first phase of the nose job has begun, and it is looking good!

Spa Day 6

The hard part is all over and the surgery is complete. I have a new nose, a trimmer chin, smaller eyes.

WOW, I can't believe how good I look!

Only two more things to do before I leave the spa...a new outfit seems absolutely necessary. After all, it is a new me.

Of course, there will be the "after" pictures.

I have also decided to start using a new name. With a brand new look, I just do not feel like I am Dixie any more, so from now on, just call me Trixie!

Spa Day 7

Well, here are my new pictures!

Aren't they grand?

TTFN!!

   Love, Trixie

Note from Bev:

Trixie is 18 inches long.  She is made of 7/8 inch pile German mohair that is white with rose colored tips.  Her eye lids, nose and footpads are a rose colored upholstery fabric.  She has hand painted German glass eyes with real lashes.  The pile on the inside of each ear has been trimmed to 1/4 inch and hand tipped with pink.  She wears a custom bikini in navy blue with white dots.
