Paper Dolls

A Love Story

Story and paper dolls by Bev Haring                               Contributing Writer

“May I have this dance?” Sam asked of Pam.

“Why yes, I’d be delighted!”

Paper Dolls were one of my favorite things when I was a kid. My grandmother used to get the McCall’s Magazine and I can remember being very excited when a new issue arrived because it would add to my collection. I had a little cardboard box that originally had stationery in it that I kept them all lovingly tucked away in. I would very carefully cut them out (including the little decorations on the pages) and play with them, and even draw new outfits to suit whatever the "play" for the day was.

Because this was such a wonderful memory for me, I would like to share that with all of you. The attached sheet is my latest paper doll work. Sam and Pam are two fun loving polar bears that are ready for anything. During February, they are looking forward to the Valentine's Day Ball, but what they really enjoy is fishing and hunting for berries!

I hope that you will find all the joy that I found as a child (and now as an adult) using your imagination to create a wonderful world where Polar Bears dance their days away.
