FAREWELL  TO  DISNEYLAND

This was my final day of my Disneyland vacation and also Christmas Day.

This was a 'magical' week filled with festivities, parades and special Disneyland employees who shared memories with me.

The kind of memories that are in photos but kept in my heart too.

I hope you will enjoy meeting some of these delightful employees I have mentioned in this issue of my Disneyland vacation.

Sean and Annamarie were our hosts during the Fantasmic Night Show. They escorted us to our reserved seats and made us comfortable.

The show had lots of lights, fireworks and Disney characters.

Thank you Sean and Annamarie for giving me a booster chair so I could see the ground displays and to take better photos of this event.
The next day after the Fantasmic show I was walking along in the park deciding what would be my next ride, when I heard 'HUMPHREY' and since there are no Disney characters named Humphrey, then who else would that be but 'me'?

I turned around and there was Sean, our host from the light show, holding out his arms for a bear hug.

We shared a special hug and a promise to always remember each other.

As for his 'shades', I need a pair of those sun glasses to look as 'cool' as he did.

I always made time for shopping and I couldn't go past a shop called 'Off The Page' without looking in.

I felt the need to experience this shop located in the California Adventure Park of Disneyland.

I selected T-shirts, pins, postcards and candy and took the items to the cashier's desk where Anthony and Andrew waited on me.

They liked my dragon outfit I was wearing and they wanted a picture taken with me.

As I was ready to leave, Anthony gave me a special YODA pin (from Star Wars) that matches a shirt I bought - WOW !

Thanks Anthony I will remember you when I wear that special pin.

That generosity was 'magical' but that's what Disney is all about!

Besides special employees at Disneyland there were a lot of events; such as the daytime Christmas parades.

Mickey Mouse and his band led the parade down Main Street.

The crowd lined the sidewalks, cheering and enjoying the holiday festivities.

I thought I was seeing a strange thing.

Yes, it was a very tall Christmas tree moving down the street.

There really is 'magic' here!

I can feel it.

At the end of the parade there came a special float.

Large trees with a sleigh near the top and Santa waving at everyone.

Christmas Day was special - thank you Santa.  He gave me an envelope to be used Christmas Night.

His gift was a ticket for a reservation for an escorted Christmas Holiday Tour.

The tour began late afternoon and Keoki was our tour guide.

We learned a lot about the history of Disneyland and stopped at designated shops for treats - my favorite was a chocolate covered marshmallow with a topping of nuts.

As night time appeared Keoki escorted us to our 'Reserved' seats for the Christmas night parade.

After we were seated we received a special 2014 Christmas souvenir pin along with a cup of hot chocolate.

The parade was about to begin!

I sat on Mom's lap and had a perfect view of the parade.

Here comes the first float!

The Chipmunk characters were riding a jeep with Christmas decorations.  As they passed me they smiled but I wasn't giving up my hot chocolate.

Next were Santa's Reindeer, they were really funny when they invited people to join their 'line dance'.

I almost dropped my hot chocolate laughing so hard.

Goofy was riding with a Gingerbread House and he was throwing candy to the crowd I caught some for my mid-night snack.
Pooh the bear made his appearance on a sled.  I gave him a quick 'bear' wave and he returned the wave to me.

When the parade was over the time had come to say 'farewell' to magical memories shared with family, friends and new friends.  Photos and feelings in my heart will always remind me of a time that 'was'.

The next morning we took a shuttle to the airport for our flight back home to Phoenix, Arizona.

While on the plane a nice Southwest Air stewardess helped me fasten my air mask and gave me a hug.

But Tinker Bell has stolen my heart - for now.

I had extra money leftover from my vacation and I was still in the 'shopping' mood

so I shopped on-line while

in the air!

Wifi on the plane. Cool.

I love technology!

I hope each of you enjoyed sharing my vacation with me.

Thanks for being part of the 'magic'.
